Contented Cat Lady
I don’t need to tell you
That you make
My mornings bright
My afternoons light
And my evenings just right.
Tucked under my arm
While I sip tea and read.
On my desk,
While I write.
At my feet,
While I sleep.
You are the best companion.
Without words,
We know.
Slow blinks,
Low purrs.
And just like you are the lioness of this manor,
I am your tiger mom,
Hunting canned fish and chicken goop sticks
Like it's my god-given life purpose.
And maybe it is.
I will love you,
Protect you,
And cherish you
Until death do us part.
Because no one
Has shown me the love
You give freely
Every minute,
Every day.
I swear,
No more lovers with cat allergies,
Keeping us at a distance.
Priorities, my friend.
Foot Warmers
I love waking
Up beneath
The sheets
Beside you, with cats
As foot warmers
Curled and cuddled
Love in your eyes
Your hand enveloping mine
In the infinitesimal between
Us.
Green Flag
Everything about you is
A green flag.
You are the
Cutest,
Funniest,
Smartest,
Most loyal,
Most clever,
Most perfect
Person
In the Entire world,
Entire universe.
You are my cat.
