Ten Minutes

As I’m brewing my pot of coffee

I’m thinking of diving into my books again

It’s going to take about ten minutes

Enough to walk one Kilometer

Unless my feet drag me back to his place

I might do a short mindfulness session

I don’t know how to deal with those ten minutes

Can I lend it someone who might be running out of time?

I’ve had enough ten minutes myself

I don’t think I need anymore

Ten minutes are not meant for a woman like me

I deserve more, I need more

Give me more time to speak than ten minutes

I say that and then I listen to my three favorite songs

I’ll take a Power Nap

Of solely ten minutes

And might get up in a better mood than this

I need those ten minutes

To warm up before my workout

Or to read a few pages off a book

Maybe it’s war and peace

Or should I call up Rafaela?

Or should I make instant noodles?

Or watch a Ted talk?

All this free time in my hands

No idea in my head

Something is going wrong with me

One might say I’m crazier than one can be
