Nostalgia

by Renz Chester R. Gumaru

The clock ticks backward in my mind.

A loop where love is undefined.

Old laughter lingers in the air.

A ghost of joy, still waiting there.

Your smile, a map I cannot read.

A puzzle piece I somehow need.

Time is an arrow that bends, but never breaks,

A fragile truth that heartache makes.

I trace the past, though I know,

What’s gone cannot follow where we go.

Yet here I am, where echoes call,

Chasing shadows, loving it all.
